A recent fact sheet from the Kaiser Family Foundations, points out that even though health care providers have known about Emergency Contraception (EC) for several decades, the public at-large is less aware of its availability. In June 2010, the federal Emergency Contraception Education Act (S. 3504/HR 5561) was introduced to provide funding for national awareness campaigns.
