Presentations from the 2015 Conference- Clinical FP Topics Panel

The next presentation in the 2015 Conference Presentation Series is the Clinical Fertility Preservation Panel, which was moderated by Dr. Bill Gradishar. This panel included brief presentations on a variety of clinical topics, as well as a robust question and answer session at the end of the presentations. Panel member includes Yasmin Gosiengfiao, MD, Lurie Children's; Leslie Appiah, MD, University of Kentucky; Olivia Jaworek Frias, RN, Cincinnati Children's; and Anna Franklin, MD, MD Anderson. All panel members are part of the Pediatric Initiative Network within the National Physicians Cooperative.

Presentations from the 2015 Conference- Antoinette Anazodo, MD

Dr. Antoinette Anazodo flew all the way from Australia to present at the 2015 Oncofertility Consortium Conference. Antoinette Anazodo, MD,is the Director, Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer, Kids Cancer Center and Sydney Children’s Hospital. Antoinette is developing the AYA cancer service to ensure all AYA patients have access to appropriate age and tumor specific medical treatment as well as ensuring they benefit from psychosocial assessment and care navigation through treatment. 

At the 2015 Conference, Dr. Anazodo presented on Using Big Data to Track Fertility Preservation Across Australia.

The Return of Virtual Grand Rounds!

The Oncofertility Consortium is pleased to announce the revival of the Virtual Grand Rounds!! These monthly virtual meetings will embody the theme of the year: oncofertility in no-low resource settings. This series of talks will focus on the multifaceted approach to setting up an oncofertility practice, both domestically and aboard. These meetings were a huge success in the past and they enable sites to interact without  having to make expensive trips to Chicago.  The meetings begin on April 13, 2016 at 9am central time. Dr. Teresa Woodruff will give the first lecture: Educating a Globally Prepared Oncofertility Workforce.

Presentations from the 2015 Conference- James Smith, MD

James Smith, MD, was a featured speaker at the 2015 Oncofertility Consortium Conference to discuss fertility preservation in the male population. Dr. Smith is an Associate Professor and Director of the UCSF Male Reproductive Health practice where he cares for infertile men, boys and men needing fertility preservation, and men with erectile dysfunction and hypogonadism. Dr. Smith is expert in the use of minimally invasive vasectomy, microsurgical vasectomy reversal, sperm retrieval techniques, spermatic cord denervation, and varicocelectomy. His research program is devoted to helping men and boys with cancer become fathers after surviving cancer treatment and improving access to reproductive care.

Presentations from the 2015 Conference- Irene Su, MD, MSCE, and Lisa Campo-Engelstein, PhD

The next presentations in our 2015 Oncofertility Conference series discuss the Medical and Ethical Considerations in Ovarian Stimulation of Adolescents. Dr. Irene Su, MD, MSCE presentation focused on the medical considerations and Dr. Lisa Campo-Engelstein, PhD, discussed the ethical considerations.

Dr. Su is an Associate Professor of Reproductive Medicine in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California, San Diego, where she directs the Fertility Preservation Program. Her current research focuses on estimating the reproductive window in female young adult cancer survivors. As well, she is testing a web-based intervention on sequelae of premature ovarian aging in young breast cancer survivors. She actively collaborates with the young adult cancer survivor community to conduct this research.
